18 September 2024, 9am to 4.30pm, Austin Court Birmingham

Join us at the 2024 HBF Technical Conference on Wednesday 18 September 2024, at Birmingham’s Austin Court.

In recent years, the housebuilding industry’s Technical teams have faced unprecedented challenges due to a slew of new regulations. This year continues that trend, with six building regulation updates anticipated from the government.

The HBF Technical Conference has been designed to help attendees navigate the technical challenges ahead, providing the information and guidance needed to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.

The day’s packed agenda of expert speakers will cover a range of topics, including updates to Approved Document Part L (conservation of fuel and power), the Future Homes Hub's work on Whole Life Carbon, and the Water Efficiency Roadmap. Attendees will also learn about the Timber in Construction Roadmap released by Defra last year and discuss ownership and maintenance of open space areas on residential developments, including stewardship in response to the CMA study findings earlier this year.

A Utilities Panel of industry experts will provide insights into the latest changes in telecommunications, electrical power, heat networks, and upcoming changes in water efficiency and regulations. The conference will also feature presentations from the British Board of Agrément (BBA) on product certifications and reducing risk in product selection. Additionally, representatives from the Health & Safety Executive and NHBC will discuss upcoming changes to standards and technical guidance.

Confirmed speakers:

Standard tickets are £320+VAT per event. However, HBF members tickets are £260+VAT. Additionally, attendees of both the planning and technical conference can receive an extra 20% discount.
