The Power to Personalise
Many buyers believe older properties offer more character and greater scope to make a home their own. The Power to Personalise challenges that perception, showing how new build homes provide a high-quality blank canvas for personalisation, without the uncertainty, disruption and hidden renovation costs that can come with older homes.
This campaign is informed by HBF's forthcoming
Nothing Compares to New report, which estimates the cost of bringing an older property up to modern new build standards.

Part of the Power to Move campaign
Following the success of New Homes Week 2026, the Home Builders Federation (HBF) is launching Power to Move – a long-term programme of campaign activity designed to support the industry in shifting perceptions of new build homes and highlight the wider benefits of home building.
Campaign activity will be delivered through themed Power to… moments, each focusing on a different benefit. While campaigns will launch at a specific point, the assets, evidence and messaging are designed to provide ongoing support for member communications, marketing and stakeholder engagement.
The Power to Personalise is one moment within this umbrella campaign.
Power to Personalise campaign resources
HBF members are encouraged to use these assets in communications activity, to support consistent, trusted messaging from the industry on the energy efficiency benefits of new build homes.
